Attention women fly-fishers!

We address ourselves to you who think fly-fishing is what life is for - but also to you who have not tried it yet. And to you who are frightened off by gadget freaks who always want to catch the biggest fish. You who don't think that everything has to be a competiton, the most fish or the most thrilling trip.

If you think it's difficult to learn, we want to tell you that women have grace, patience, coordination, balance and timing - all of which are important qualities for success in fly-fishing.

Come along from the beginning and join us in starting the society Nordic Women's Fly-Fishing Group. A society created by women for everyone who is interested. A Nordic group where where fly-fishing is the focal point.

The purpose of the society is:

develop women's fly-fishing

learn from each other

make contacts

get advice and assistance with equipment purchases

fish together

meet and have fun

give fishing tips

have fishing meetings with lectures, fly tying, casting instructors

protect nature and the environment

The Danish expression "lustfiske" (fishing for pleasure) is a wonderful word which can symbolize what fly fishing is all about. The wise words which Dame Juliana Berners imparts to us from 15th century England can also show what fly-fishing is:

"You must therefore not use the aforementioned skill-demanding pastime only from the desire to increase and save your money, but above all to refresh yourself, and to give your body, and especially your soul, health."
